In March 2014. during the national executive council meeting or the Association of General and Private Medical practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), my nomination as the Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of General Practice was ratified. The impact of the enormity of the work hit me squarely. I used to marvd at how Dr Francis Edo (Hato, the immediate past Editor-in-Chief, was able to do it. He had consistently published our journal twice yearly. I helped as a peer reviewer but that was like looking in from a distance. Howl am at the high table, the Chairman on whose table the bunk stops. The Initial reaction was fright. Should I flee? No, I was In and could not escape. I went to Francis and pleaded with him not to leave me alone. It was only a change of guard. He told me, 'hei, fide this is a small Mh Assume office and face it I did it, why can't you?" Anyway, he promised to be around to lend a helping hand. He has been doing that. Francis. thanks.
